RPS is looking for an experienced Workshop Assistant to join our busy team working alongside us looking after our clients classic and vintage cars either full or part-time.

Daily tasks are all aimed to assist the team with the smooth running of the business both in and around the buildings and within the yard. The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out any maintenance to the buildings and any equipment as needed.

Applicants need a can-do attitude and be able to use their many skills to accomplish the varied jobs we need doing across the day, which may also include carrying out various driving jobs. Ideally you will have a licence to tow a trailer and be familiar with the requirements of that line of work.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Ensure that the workshop is kept tidy and efficient.
  • Fulfil daily and weekly tasks.
  • Assist with the running of our car storage facility.
  • Maintenance as needed.
  • Driving company vehicles as needed for any collections and deliveries.
  • Trailer work as needed.

Essential requirements:

  • Experience in DIY and general maintenance skills
  • An ability to promptly deal with routine tasks.
  • A methodical and tidy approach in relation to work.
  • A willingness to learn.
  • Flexibility in work.
  • Having a ‘nothing is too much trouble’ attitude.
  • IT literacy, use of computers for recording tasks and time keeping.
  • An understanding of Health & Safety in the workplace
  • A professional appearance and manner
  • Ability to work on own initiative and cope well at busy times.
  • A full driving licence is essential.
