U-Bolt Kits

U-bolt kits are essential when installing lowering blocks, as the original U-bolts will often be too short to accommodate the added height of the lowering blocks. These kits come with longer U-bolts, Nylock nuts, and any necessary adapters for complete installation and also compatibility.

Features:

Application: Suitable for Ford vehicles with rear leaf suspension such as Escort, Cortina, Capri, Anglia, in addition to other similar models.
Handling Improvement: Lowering the center of gravity helps to improve handling and on the other hand enhancing stability.
Complete Kit: The kit includes 4 U-bolts, 8 Nylock nuts, and adaptors specifically designed for the lowering blocks.

Installation Overview:

1. Raise and Support the Vehicle: Firstly ensure the vehicle is securely supported on jack stands.
2. Remove Existing U-Bolts: Secondly you will need to unbolt the existing U-bolts holding the leaf springs to the axle.
3. Insert Lowering Blocks: Then place the lowering blocks between the leaf spring and axle.
4. Install New U-Bolts: Fit the new, longer U-bolts over the axle and also through the leaf springs, securing them with the provided Nylock nuts.
5. Torque to Specification: Tighten the nuts to the manufacturer’s recommended torque specification.
6. Double-Check and Lower Vehicle: Ensure everything is secure, then carefully lower the vehicle back onto the ground.
